Save Our Hall!

UPDATE:

**We need your donations NOW**

Thank you to everyone who pledged money towards saving Meadvale Hall over the last week.  We have put in a competitive bid, (with no strings attached!) to save Meadvale Hall for our community and keep scouting in Meadvale.

It’s been a busy week for us, but we are now ready to accept your donations via bank transfer.  If you are making a pledge and are eligible for Gift Aid, it will really make a huge difference if you can spend a couple of minutes filling in and returning the Gift Aid form below.

The Gift Aid form includes the bank details to transfer to. This is a dedicated bank account ring-fenced only for the purchase and maintenance of the hall, scout hut and land, and we are committed to returning your money if we are unsuccessful, if that is your preference.

Many thanks for your support – this is an exciting opportunity for Meadvale to come together and make a difference for our community.  If you have any queries about this – please let me know, we will be happy to help.

Our Mission:

We are working to secure Meadvale Hall and the scout hut behind – as a lasting home for the 34th Reigate (Meadvale) Scout Group and as a vibrant community hub for the people of Meadvale.

For over 90 years, generations of young people and volunteers have called this hall home. It has supported Scouting, nursery care, martial arts, yoga, guitar lessons, residents’ meetings, and countless other community activities. Now, we need your help to keep this legacy alive.

Our goal is to preserve this vital space. By keeping the hall and hut in community use, we can ensure they continue to serve as a hub for Meadvale residents.  We need your support in this endeavour to keep this part of our shared history alive, and to provide a positive future for the site for many years to come.

Why It Matters:

Meadvale Hall is more than bricks and mortar — it’s been used for birthdays, wedding receptions, clubs, and community meetings for generations.  It’s a part of our shared history – and future. Scouting in Meadvale offers young people a safe place to grow, develop confidence, learn responsibility, and engage with the community. Losing this site to a developer would be a major blow to our village spirit.

By keeping the hall and scout hut in community use, we ensure that Meadvale remains a connected, active, and supportive neighbourhood.
